Group looking to start Catholic college eyes space in downtown Kansas City, Mo.

March 27, 2013
Talks are underway to lease space in headquarters of Catholic diocese for school to be called Christ College.

The Kansas City-St. Joseph Roman Catholic Diocese may lease part of its 10-story headquarters in downtown Kansas City, Mo., to a group that wants to open a small Catholic liberal arts college. The Kansas City Star says the Walsingham Society of Christian Culture and Western Civilization, based in Fort Worth, Texas, contacted diocesan officials last year about its plan to establish Christ College in Kansas City. The diocese bought the building in 2010, and floors seven to 10 are vacant, church officials say.
