Former elementary building may house arts high school in Chicago

Nov. 4, 2013
Chicago High School for the Arts has been trying to find a permanent site for several years.

A shuttered elementary school building in Chicago is likely to be the new home for an arts high school. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the former Lafayette Elementary School building in the Humboldt Park neighborhood is expected to be chosen as the new location of the Chicago High School for the Arts. The high school has been housed in three locations since it opened in 2009. Lafayette was closed earlier this year because of low enrollment.
