Rollins College in Winter Park unveils $30 million Alfond Inn.

Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla., is opening its own hotel. The Orlando Sentinel says the Alfond Inn is a 112-room hotel a block from the campus. The $30 million hotel sits on 3.3 acres of land formerly occupied by the Langford Hotel. Officials say it will serve as a recruiting tool and first impression for many prospective students. Revenue from the hotel — after operating expenses, fees and taxes — will be used to pay for scholarships
