Suit says girl's hand was slammed in a metal door at Sanders School in Wayne Township district.

The Wayne Township (Ind.) school district has been sued by the family of a student who says she lost a finger when a staff member slammed her hand in a metal door last year. The Indianapolis Star reports that the girl was 9 or 10 at the time she was injured and was attending Sanders School, a campus for students with behavior disorders. The family contends that staff members at the school locked a student into an isolation room after the student became frustrated during class. Lawyers say the girl's parents question why the school had a heavy metal door that one might expect to find in a prison.
