Construction begins on new elementary in Lubbock, Texas

Jayne Ann Miller Elementary will replace two aging school campuses.

The Lubbock (Texas) district has broken ground for Jayne Ann Miller Elementary School. The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal says the school is a consolidation of Murfee and Haynes elementaries and is being built on the old Murfee site. While construction is underway, students from the two schools are attending classes on the Haynes campus, which has been supplemented with nine portable buildings.
