Two construction companies have been cited for safety violations after a 24-year-old worker was killed at a University of Kentucky dormitory construction site in February,the Lexington Herald-Leader reported>. The worker, Isaias Cabrera Ramos, suffered a traumatic brain injury after a piece of plywood fell at least five floors from the roof of the new Haggin Hall and struck him in the head. He was wearing a hard hat. The state plans to fine Messer Construction $6,300 and Bates Construction $4,900.
