Cleveland district looks to replace aging bus fleet

The Cleveland school district is considering a plan to replace its aging bus fleet with 225 new vehicles by the end of this school year. The Cleveland Plain Dealer says the plan calls for the district to pay about $19 million over the next seven years in a lease-purchase plan. The district has almost 300 buses now, which includes buses needed for daily transportation routes as well as others available as backups. Buses in the current fleet that are in the best condition will be kept as backups.
