Catholic middle/high school in Memphis will close

Bishop Byrne Middle and High School has only 170 students in grades 7 to 12.

The Catholic Diocese of Memphis says it will close Bishop Byrne Middle and High School at the end of this school year. The Memphis Commercial Appeal says enrollment has been dropping at the school for years. It has about 170 students in grades 7 to 12, and the senior class has fewer than 35 students.
