Buried home costs Indiana school district an extra $147,000

A school district in Columbus, Ind., had to tap into its contingency fund after construction workers found an unexpected obstruction buried at the site of a performing arts expansion, WCSI news station reported. As the crew excavated for footers, they struck the remnants of a home that had been buried decades ago. Removing the home will cost the district an extra $147,000. So far, all that has been uncovered are building materials and shoes.
