Baltimore district will pay $50,000 in playground lawsuit

Sept. 20, 2013
Settlement stems from injury suffered when a boy fell from a jungle jim.

The family of a student in Baltimore will receive a $50,000 settlement for injuries their son sustained last year on a playground at Francis Scott Key Elementary/Middle School. The Baltimore Sun says the boy fractured his arms in March 2012 when he was pushed from a jungle gym. The family asserted in a lawsuit that the jungle gym did not have retaining panels on the platform, which would have provided protection from a fall.
