Baltimore city district sued over treatment of homeless students

Homeless families have sued the Baltimore city school system, contending that their children have been denied transportation to school and been stigmatized because they couldn't afford field trips and uniforms. The Baltimore Sun reports that the lawsuit alleges the district is violating students' rights because it is not abiding by a law that says that each homeless youth should have equal access to the public education provided to other students.
