Backers of Oklahoma school shelter proposal want more time to get question on statewide ballot

Backers of a statewide bond measure for school storm shelters in Oklahoma are asking the state Supreme Court for more time to gather signatures. The Oklahoman reports that the group Take Shelter Oklahoma has accused state Attorney General Scott Pruitt of changing the wording of the proposed ballot question in a way that created confusion and hampered the process of collecting signatures. The initiative petition would ask voters to approve up to $500 million in bonds to build storm shelters in schools.
