Annual report shows generous pay for departing college presidents

The country’s highest paid college president – E. Gordon Gee, formerly of Ohio State University – earned more than $6 million last year, the Chronicle of Higher Education reported. His salary far exceeded $478,896, which was the median compensation of his contemporaries. The Chronicle found that significant amounts of money were doled out to presidents, like Gee, as they parted ways with the institutions they once led.
